Welcome – Start Here

If you are new to our website or just browsing around and want to know more about how this website works, here’s a sentence to sum it all up:

Welcome
Reaching Financial Independence and Experiencing the World

Reaching Financial Independence & Experiencing the World

You can read more about us on this link — but to sum it up:

  • We both are working full-time jobs but want to become financially independent within the next 15 years.
  • We are working because we are saving for our freedom from the cubicle, and also to fund other passions like travel.
  • We are trying to invest what we earn in other things too – call it mini-businesses or side hustles, if you like: real estate (you can rent out our spare bedroom on AirBnB, which may lead to more properties in the future), and this blog.
  • We also explain how we can afford our travels on this post — because yeah, we’re not millionaires, we just strive to live under our means.

If you want to read more about our travels in general, you can read more about it here

To see travel breakdowns for every city we go to, or every entertainment activity we embark on within Florida & beyond, you can read here.

If you want more specific cities, we have posted about:

  1. Orlando, FL #1
  2. Orlando, FL #2
  3. New York City
  4. Dallas, Texas
  5. Montego Bay, Jamaica

We also posted our bucket list – see how many we have ticked off. We wrote our list so we can be held accountable for what we want to do. We don’t have to tick everything, we just want to keep adding to it because the world is just big and wonderful in itself that we can always discover a new destination or adventure that we can do.

If you want to work with us, feel free to hit us up here. In a nutshell, we can do freelance writing about travel & personal finance, and sports (Peter, mostly). We are also open to advertising opportunities!

On the Road in Bohol
On the Road in Bohol

We are both budget and luxury travelers. Budget does not mean staying in hostels (Peter’s way past that stage where you stay in a dorm room with a few other people and share a bathroom) – however, we do try to save money on travel whenever we can, hence we travel hack by using airline miles and hotel points to get a reward flight or a free hotel room (of course, using credit card points and not incurring any interest fees or charges), or we fly ultra low cost budget carriers to get us from one location to another (see our Allegiant and Spirit airline reviews).

On the other side of the spectrum, we are normal people talking about our personal lives like getting engaged, getting married, having another wedding, having travel depression, and growing up and talking about finance. We simply wish to live well and live within our means, and enjoy every experience.

Even though our blog is fairly new, we are taking a few days hiatus as we get ready for our wedding (including the rehearsal dinner, the wedding itself, and a mini trip the day after). We’ll be back when things quiet down a bit, hopefully by the first week of June (and by then this paragraph will most probably be deleted anyway!)
