12 Hour Lisbon Layover? Head to Sintra Portugal: An Itinerary
For our Spain trip, we booked a flight with a 12 hour layover in Lisbon, Portugal. Most people cringe at the thought of a layover because that may mean sitting in the airport twiddling your thumbs as you wait for your next flight. We love long layovers if they are tactical enough that you can visit two (or more) destinations in one trip. Trip map courtesy of Wanderlog, a trip planner app Planning a 12 Hour Lisbon Layover: An Itinerary to Sintra Portugal For this trip, we flew TAP Portugal. Booked using 50,000 Merrill Points & $200-ish in cash. We picked the option that allowed us to land at around…

Schengen Visa Application for Philippine Passport (for Free)
Marrying a European meant that we do have to go to Europe every now and again to visit family or just go sightseeing. The problem with that is, I need to get a Schengen visa since I have a Philippine passport. Not to worry, did you know you can get a free Schengen visa application with a Philippine passport? There is a catch though – you’ll have to prove that your family member is a European citizen. Our trip to Ireland was more of a whim, from an airfare sale that was $380. It took a bit of time before we finalized our itinerary, but we did it and we had a blast! Ireland Visa Application for Philippine Passports
Another day, another drama, another chapter in my love/hate relationship with my Philippine passport. What started out as a great deal from the US to Ireland is giving me more of a headache than I could have ever imagined, and made me wish in part that I wasn’t going to Ireland (or other visa countries) and used this time to travel somewhere else that’s visa free for my passport, like Ecuador or Peru. So let me recount to you my experience with the Ireland Visa Application. Ireland Visa Application for Philippine Passports To start off, I hold a green card to the United States, but I’m still a Philippine passport…

A European Castle Proposal
I proposed to Ruby on April 20, 2015, in a historic European castle. In a small town. In a small country. In true fairytale fashion, she said yes, and fireworks blasted into the sky! Ok, so there were no fireworks, but she did say yes, and yet that proposal was a month in the making, and almost didn’t happen. Not even Ruby knows the full story, so this is the first time I’ll be revealing the behind the scenes look at “The European Castle Proposal”. Step 1: The Ring Obviously, for a proposal to work, the guy has to buy (or make) a ring! If you’re not Ron Swanson…
