Journey To Chicago: What to Do in the Windy City
Chicago What do you picture when you hear that word? I hear Polish truck drivers in a Mamet play delivering groceries, spectacular wind chills blowing off Lake Michigan, Cubs and White Sox, Bauhaus and Contemporary structures sitting side by side, Al Capone and speakeasies, Second City, Windy City, White City, Home Alone, Chicago the Musical, deep dish pizza, Sears Tower, loudness, and the eternal rumble of the “L” trains. We visited Chicago for only two full days and a morning, so we only saw downtown Chicago, for the most part. Still, we saw Chicago as it woke up in the morning and how it went to sleep (or didn’t go to sleep), how…

Travel Hacking Alaska: Planning Our Trip
When we got married in May 28, 2015, a crucial choice had to be made, and that was with regards to our honeymoon. Where in the world would we go? We’ve already been to a few honeymoon spots like Turks & Caicos, Cancun, and even Montego Bay so we definitely don’t want a beach honeymoon, and we definitely want something out of the box. The choice was made in the…

3 Day New York City Itinerary (52 WW)
New York City. Feb 15-19, 2019. We booked this trip for a visa run to go to Europe. Technically, we were supposed to apply for my Slovak Schengen visa, but it didn’t happen. In fact, we didn’t need to fly anymore – we found out we could just mail the documents to the DC embassy instead! With a winter storm just finishing, and with our friends out of town (our other reason for flying up there), we had to come up with an impromptu itinerary which was literally just booked and finalized on a Thursday after we checked in to our flight. We have been to New York City so…

Hi! I’m Ruby, you probably know me from this blog, or the other blog, through Instagram, Facebook, or on Twitter. You may even know me from offline so hello hello! You guys probably know that I work full time, and have been for nearly 11 years. However, did you know that I have been working full time with one company for the past 10 years, or that I was an expat for several years before I moved full time to the USA? Those of you who know me offline (either as friends, acquaintances or AirBnB guests) probably know exactly where I am working, but hey, I’m here to tell you…

Orlando’s Chocolate Kingdom (Review)
On a recent Expedia activities deal, Peter and I decided to use the lucrative Expedia coupon ($25 off $30) for a tour to Chocolate Kingdom. Because why not, right? It was an activity we haven’t been before and who doesn’t want to sample chocolate? What’s Chocolate Kingdom? Good question, we didn’t know what it was either – essentially it is a boutique chocolate factory where you can take behind the scenes tours of how chocolate is made as well as its humble origins. Orlando’s Chocolate Kingdom Touring Chocolate Kingdom Chocolate Kingdom is located near Orlando’s International Drive. Tucked away in a small hotel complex close to the convention center, it…
