Alpine A-Frames in Walker County, Georgia

Alpine A-Frames: AirBnBs for bigger groups in Walker County

If you are traveling with a bigger group or prefer a place with the comforts of home like a full kitchen and a washer or dryer, an Airbnb may be the answer. There are more Airbnbs in Walker County than there are hotels, with some Airbnb accommodations offering unique properties like A-Frames or Treehouses.

I’ve had a chance to stay at an A-Frame cottage from Alpine A-Frames. This A-frame has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and has 3 levels. The main level has a bedroom and bathroom near the front door, with a spacious living room, kitchen, and dining area underneath the A-Frame. The best views are on the second floor, which has the master bedroom and bathroom.

Finally, the lower level has another bedroom with a Jacuzzi bath. There is another living room connected to a bedroom with bunk beds. Perfect for those whose children want a bit of privacy away from mom and dad.

The best part for me, though, is the goats. When staying at the A-Frame, you’ll get bags of goat food to feed the goats in the backyard of the property. The goats hang out by the balcony in the morning, or if they’re not around, ring the bell, and if they’re hungry, they will come running towards you. The goats will eat off your hand, or just put the food by the balcony railing and they can eat off it.

This is one of the most unique accommodations I’ve stayed in while traveling. If you’re going with an even bigger group, the company owns 6 A-Frames all within steps from each other. Each A-Frame setup is the same, and the goats are free to roam around the different properties.

Hutcheson Hall – Happy Valley Farms in Walker County, Georgia

Best Hotel in Walker County, GA: Cloudland at Mclemore Resort

Ever have an ad on YouTube pique your interest? This one did. When we were visiting relatives in Southern California, an ad for this property started showing up whenever we launched YouTube. A quick search later, we found out it is located near Chattanooga, Tennessee. The property is on the side of the mountain, with lots of trees and open space to enjoy nature and the views.

The restaurants inside the Cloudland are amazing. Had a chance to grab lunch at Croft, one of the restaurants inside the hotel, and it is fabulous. The plating and food were great overall.

The best part for me is the infinity pool overlooking the grounds and mountainside. Best experienced when there is cloud cover in the area.

Hutcheson Hall – Happy Valley Farms in Walker County, Georgia

For bigger groups, family gatherings, and girls trips: Happy Valley Farms

Happy Valley Farms rarely opens up their cabins for booking, but if you find a date open and you would like to stay in a historic log cabin, do it! The cabin is perfect for a girls’ trip or a small family reunion. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living area.

You can also opt to rent the bigger historic mansion called Hutcheson Hall if planning a wedding or a family reunion that needs more bedrooms on the property. It has 8 total bedrooms with an ensuite, each individually styled and decorated.

If you don’t want to stay overnight, head to the farmers market (open Saturdays from 10 am to noon) or book an experience like a farm-to-table dinner experience so you can see the property yourself.
